Plan the hashtag campaign before you post it.

Pick a format, type your hashtag and how long it should run. The planner drafts a timeline, contest rules you can edit, a hashtag check, moderation tips and a wrap-up checklist. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

Notes

Questions people ask first

What makes a good campaign hashtag?

Short enough to type on a phone, spelled the way people would guess it, and unused or nearly unused before your launch. Capitalize the start of each word (CamelCase) so it reads clearly and screen readers pronounce it as words. Search X for it first to see whether someone else already owns the conversation.

How long should a hashtag campaign run?

It depends on the format. A live event hashtag peaks for the length of the event plus a day either side. A photo contest needs at least one or two weekends so people have time to take pictures. Community challenges often run for a fixed number of days, such as 7 or 30, which gives people a clear finish line.

Do I need official rules for a contest on X?

If there is a prize, yes. Written rules should cover who can enter, how to enter, the entry period, how winners are picked, what the prize is worth and how winners are contacted. X also publishes its own guidelines for promotions, and prize promotions are regulated by law in most places, so have the final rules checked by a lawyer where you operate.

Is Hashtag Showroom connected to X or Tweet Binder?

No. Hashtag Showroom is an independent site, relaunched in 2026. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp. or Tweet Binder, and the example ideas on this site are invented for illustration.
